THE INVERSE CALCULATOR

WHAT'S THE CHEAPEST BOX THAT RUNS IT?

"Can I run it?" starts with your hardware. This one flips it: pick the model you actually want, and we rank every device in the research library from the cheapest price up, telling you the first box that runs it with headroom, the first that runs it borderline, and which ones can't touch it — with the receipt on every line.

THE SHORT ANSWER

CHEAPEST FIRST

Cheapest boxes that run it

NOT THIS ONE

Boxes in the library that can't run this model at all — the smallest quant that exists is still bigger than their memory. Listed cheapest first, with the shortfall.

HOW WE KNOW

Every number on this page — every price, every memory size, every quant file size and fit note — is pulled straight from the channel's own model-research database, the same notes behind the videos. Prices were last verified the database date. Nothing here is invented, and the fit verdicts are computed with the exact same rule as Can I run it? — the two tools can never disagree.

  • Fit is a disclosed rule, not a vibe: a box "runs it with headroom" only when the quant file takes at most 90% of that box's memory AND the research notes don't name a higher minimum — the notes always outrank our arithmetic. A file that squeezes in without meeting both tests shows as "borderline", and the research note on the card is the real verdict.
  • We show the best quant each box reaches. For every device we pick the largest quant that fits it, so cheaper boxes generally run smaller, more compressed quants — the fit note spells out the context and quality trade-off in plain terms.
  • Prices are snapshots, not live quotes. They are the database's verified figures from the date stamped above; the 2026 RAM crisis moves street prices monthly, and used-market cards drift week to week. Use this to build a shortlist, then check today's price yourself.
  • This is guidance, not a guarantee. Your OS, drivers, runtime (llama.cpp, MLX, vLLM…), context length and quant all move the real result. Shortlist here, then try it.
